Jorge is a seasoned project manager with over 25 years of experience in the delivery of Information Technology projects. His project management experience started in the military. After the military he joined the Wichita Airport Authority where he held different positions with the last being IT Manager. During his tenure at the Airport, project management was the center of his job. He participated in projects covering many roles; team member, project manager, program manager, and sponsor for the Airport’s IT projects. After retiring from the airport, Jorge decided to pursue his passion: Project Management. He currently works for Koch Industries as a Senior Technical Project Manager. Jorge has a degree in Computer Science, a masters in MIS and a masters in Management and Leadership.
Jorge believes that Project Management is critical to any organization’s success. His vision is to promote the Project Management profession and help project managers improve and obtain the necessary skills to be successful.
The Past President Responsibilities include the completion of the strategic plan, and associated activities to support that plan, completing the required chapter filings with PMI, and guiding the Board of Directors for the Wichita Chapter through the completions of strategic objetives. The President opens each Chapter meeting, runs the monthly BOD meetings and participates in the Regional Leadership Conferences sponsored by PMI. Leadership coaching and motivating are strengths needed in this position.
